usherette volunteer on mondays

I go along to Lynton Cinema every Monday and spend a fun 30 minutes showing people to their seats for the evening movie.  This week it was The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - brilliant film, wish there were more like them!
The cinema is quite a tourist attraction and very pretty - it seats 60 in proper cinema seats and it was packed full this week

The cinema will change from reel film to digital this summer as there will no longer be films made in the reel to reel format.  We are hoping to raise funds to support this.

Always wise to book on 01598 753397 - this week I had to sit on the mobile cinema seat in the aisle!!

my time in Harrogate at bctf

had a great time in Harrogate last week with my sister doing the British Craft Trade Fair.  My sister Ginette had a good reception with her i-pad sleeves made from vintage and upcycled materials on her Mia Scarlett stand

and my new arrangement of groups of colour - instead of groups of designs worked in my favour

We had one awful meal at Wetherspoons and another mediocre one at Wagamama's!  Our best meal was a picnic in the hotel room...

Finally got to meet the lovely Helen from Mercury Arts and see her Blob Birds

has it really been two months!!!!

I know I've been busy, but two months???

January has been full of surprises - firstly I found out that I was accepted for The 10th Devon Open Art Show and won a small bursary : )  It was with my new Chainmail Collection and the private view is on Monday evening with a presentation at 7pm in Barnstaple Museum.

Then, I discovered that I had also been accepted for New Year, New Work exhibition at Broomhill Art Hotel, Barnstaple for the second show which starts on 18th February.  The work I show there will be a big departure for me - a 2D piece of woven wire - which I am getting very excited about.

I also have work in the Valentine Showcase with UKHandmade - my little Heart Brooch ticked the right boxes there!
